Participants in a model boat race at Battery Park City’s North Cove Marina on Feb. 19 were surprised to find this seal and another sharing the icy waters with their radio-controlled craft. Even more surprising, they were not harbor seals but harp seals, which are more rarely seen in the Hudson River and New York Harbor.
