Wrestling for America’s heart and soul

At the Anti-Inaugural Ball at Judson Memorial Church, the Love Everybody Movement performance group enacted a symbolic election battle, with a blue state, New York, and a red state, Florida, wrestling. New York knocked Florida to the mat, then offered a heart as a conciliatory gesture. Florida took the heart, rolled over on top of it and popped it like a balloon, in an apparent rejection of the blue state’s peace offering. The Anti-Inaugural Ball had a red-and-blue theme and was festooned with red-and-blue balloons.
