The gangs all Ear; Morgie starts campaign
In photo at left, State Senator Catherine Abate chatted with Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau Tuesday night at Morgenthaus reelection campaign kickoff at the Ear Inn on Spring St. Morgie, 85, has been D.A. since 1974 and will face former Judge Leslie Crocker Snyder in a Democratic primary later this year. He said he likes campaigning and has no plans to retire as long as his health remains good. At right, Morgenthau, chatted with Assemblymember Adriano Espaillat, one of the three potential candidates for Manhattan borough president who attended. Two other candidates from the jam-packed field to replace C. Virginia Fields, outoing B.P., attended the party, former City Councilmember Stanley Michels and Carlos Manzano of the McManus Democratic Club.
