Robert Carpenter demonstrated with a group of antiwar protesters in front of the Washington Sq. Arch on Monday night. Carpenter, who says he has been an activist for 43 years, travels from Queens to join the nightly protest. The group has been gathering since the start of the U.S. bombing of Fallujah, Iraq, on Nov. 8. The “Fallujah Witness Vigil” occurs every night from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
