Tis the season to light trees
Annual Christmas tree lightings were held in Tompkins Sq. on Sunday (top three photos) and Washington Sq. on Monday (bottom two photos). There was caroling at both, though the East Side ceremony also boasted hot cocoa from Veselka restaurant. At the Tompkins tree event, at right, were from left, Sally Haddock, head of St. Mark’s Veterinary Hospital, Albert Fabozzi and Jason Birchard, Haddock’s stepson, who manages Veselka restaurant, which is owned by his father, Tom Birchard.
