Group to raise dough for John Kerry

The political organization MoveOn is holding a fundraiser it says will “highlight the contrast between President Bush’s big-money supporters and the hundreds of thousands of small donors on our side.” On Sat., April 17, MoveOn PAC will hold Bake Sales for Democracy, billed as the world’s largest bake sale, to “raise some dough to take back the White House and Congress and elect John Kerry.” To find a nearby bake sale visit http://action.moveonpac.org/bakesale/ or, to hold a bake sale, go to: http://action.moveonpac.org/bakesale/new.html. One can organize a bake sale and recruit friends to help, sign up to bake something and bring it to a sale or just come by and help. While selling cookies, volunteers will also be registering voters and passing out flyers on Kerry’s positions and accomplishments. After signing up, participants will get a kit including posters, voter registration forms, Kerry fact sheets. Some celebrities will come to some of the bake sales.
