Council to honor Ninth’s Finest

The Ninth Precinct Community Council will hold its annual recognition ceremony for Ninth Precinct police officers at 7 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 14, in the Great Hall of the Cooper Union Foundation Building, on Third Ave. at E. Seventh St.

Jerry Shea, council president, urged residents of the precinct, which covers the East Village from Broadway to the East River between 14th and Houston Sts., to attend the 15th annual event.

“Not only will you be expressing your gratitude to the men and women of the Ninth and their families, you will be standing with them in support,” O’Shea said. “Standing together, the community and police are the front line of crime prevention.”

Complimentary refreshments will be provided at the event by Veselka, soba-ya, Two Boots Pizza and San Loco restaurants.
