Dan’s the man at benefit

Dan Zanes, at left — former Del Fuegos frontman turned Grammy-winning children’s singer — will be among the honorees at the sixth annual Sara Curry Awards Ceremony & Benefit on Thurs., May 6, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., at the Angel Orensanz Center, 172 Norfolk St. This year’s other honorees are authors Michael Rosen (“What Else But Home”) and William Pollack (“Real Boys”). Rosen is also a founder of the East Village Community Coalition. The evening’s star-studded lineup of entertainment includes Lesley Gore (“It’s My Party”), Betty, “S.N.L.” writer Hannibal Buress, Susan Moser of Broadway’s “Hairspray” and Tracy Bonham (“Mother Mother”), plus funk/rock bassist Buzz Skillings of Living Colour.
