Trust serves up tennis courts at Canal again

Tennis, anyone?

The Hudson River Park Trust’s recent plan for an ice-skating rink near Pier 40 met with a less-than favorable reception from the community and local elected officials, and has been temporarily shelved.

Now, the Trust is refloating its plan for tennis courts near the same location at Canal St. Like the rink, the courts’ proposed site is inside Greenwich Village’s Community Board 2.

A public meeting on the tennis courts is scheduled for Jan. 5, at 6:30 p.m., at 75 Morton St., sponsored by Community Board 2’s Waterfront Committee in cooperation with the Trust.
