Keeping Clash’s Joe looking cool

Dr. Revolt created the Joe Strummer wall mural on Seventh St. at Avenue A in 2003, shortly after the punk rock legend’s death. Since then, he has done occasional touch ups, usually to cover other graffiti tags left by vandals. On the afternoon of Sun., Feb. 8, Dr. Revolt was back to do touch-up work as well as to add jacket sleeves to Strummer’s arms. Dr. Revolt began his career in 1977 as an original member of the Rolling Thunder Writers (RTW), a New York City graffiti crew. His work was included in hip-hop films “Wild Style” and “Style Wars.”
