On Valentine’s Day, Periklis Tsoumas was, as usual, working at his flower shop in the L train station at 14th St. and First Ave on the Brooklyn-bound side. He says he has been selling flowers there for more than 40 years. The shop’s vending license, hanging in the corner, was issued in 1953.
