Landmarks and Public Aesthetics Com-mittee (first January meeting): Mon., Dec. 29, 6:30 p.m., New York University, Silver Building, 32 Waverly Place, room 507. (ID required to enter building.)

Note: The C.B. 2 board office will be closed Thurs., Dec. 25, Christmas Day, and Thurs., Jan. 1, New Year’s Day. The Institutions Committee will not be meeting in December.

Community council/police

Sixth Police Precinct Community Council: Wed., Dec. 17, 7:30 p.m., Church of Our Lady of Pompeii, 25 Carmine St., lower level. Ninth Police Precinct Community Council: Wed., Dec. 17, 7 p.m., Ninth Precinct stationhouse, 321 E. Fifth St., second floor. Hear local precinct officers give reports on crime and police activities and answer questions from the public.

Ninth Precinct Community Council Children’s Toy Giveaway: Sat., Dec. 13, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the schoolyard opposite the Ninth Precinct. Children must be accompanied by a parent to receive a gift from Santa.
