Good news, for a ‘change’
The day after Barack Obama was elected president, thousands of copies of a free “special edition” of The New York Times appeared all over Downtown. Bearing the front-page motto “All the News We Hope to Print,” the paper’s lead stories included “Iraq War Ends,” “Nation Sets Its Sights on Building Sane Economy,” “Maximum Wage Law Succeeds” and “Ex-Secretary Apologizes for W.M.D. Scare,” an alleged mea culpa by Condoleeza Rice.
