Public hearing on Con Edison air pollution:
Mon., Nov. 17, 7 p.m., Campos Plaza, 611 E. 13th St. The State Department of Environmental Conservation will hold a legislative public hearing at which community residents may comment on air pollution and related public health concerns associated with Con Ed’s E. 14th St. power plant. The power plant’s capacity was expanded in 2005, causing increases in local pollution levels, advocates charge. Con Ed is seeking renewals for Title V (air pollution control program) and Title IV (acid rain program) permits.
