Creative Time, the East Village-based arts organization, traveled the country for a year, gaining perspectives from artists and activists on the state of American democracy. The result was a collection of works by 40 artists that was recently displayed in Creative Time’s “Convergence Center” show at the Park Avenue Armory. The above installation was of debris left behind when F.B.I. agents raided the home of scientist Steve Kurtz in 2004. The detritus included pizza boxes, police tape, bottles, cans and even a cigar stub.
