Pickle-icious performers had Lower East Side flavor
Orchard St. between Broome and Grand Sts. was packed tighter than dills in a barrel as throngs flocked to taste pickles, watch a canning demonstration and sample other local fare early this month. The occasion was the Eighth Annual NYC International Pickle Day, on Sun., Sept. 14, co-sponsored by the NY Food Museum and the Lower East Side Business Improvement District. Above, the group The Apple Sisters sang an ode to the pickle, including the catchy refrain, Hey there pickle, I wanna kiss you.
