True grit: Images of the East Village from the ’70s
Photographer Marlis Momber, a longtime East Village resident, posed on Sat., Feb. 9, with some of her 1970s East Village photographs at her show, “Our Lives in Print: 1976-2008.” The show focused on Momber’s photos of an East Village filled with abandoned, burned-out buildings and aswarm with drug dealers. The show, at Umbrella House on Avenue C, ran through Sat., Feb. 17. On the last day, Momber auctioned off many of the photographs.
