Villager photo by Nick Brooks
Heath Ledgers dad in Soho
On Tuesday, Kim Ledger, father of actor Heath Ledger, paid a one-hour visit to the Soho loft at 421 Broome St. where his son died of an apparent prescription-drug overdose on Tues., Jan. 22, after having lived there for a few months. Above, Kim Ledger, carrying a messenger bag over his shoulder and wearing sunglasses, is shown leaving the loft and entering a black S.U.V. parked in an alley behind the building. A security guard points to the photographer who was 100 feet away on top of a five-story building on Crosby St. after having noticed the photographers flash go off. Paparazzi crowded around the alleys gate on Crosby St. According to some of them, the S.U.V. and at least some of the security guards are actor Tom Cruises. The man at the top of the photo is reportedly a New York Police Department detective. According to some of the paparazzi, the buildings superintendent had moved a portion of the memorial items left outside for Heath Ledger down to the basement, and showed them to the actors father there during his visit.
