East Side, West Side, all around the Xmas trees
Last week was a time for Christmas tree lighting, caroling and music in the park. The Washington Square Park tree was lit under the arch on Tues., Dec. 4, as a brass band played and kids followed along on lyric sheets trying to sing while simultaneously sucking on candy canes. Tompkins Square Park’s tree was lit on Sun., Dec. 9. Crystal Field, below, fourth from left, wearing a white hat, and her group from the Theater for the New City led the singing in Tompkins Square.
