‘Keep soaring my love’

On the evening of Wed., Aug. 8, friends of Boitumelo (“Tumi”) McCallum chalked messages on the sidewalk at 4 Washington Square Village in front of a memorial of flowers and photos of McCallum. Michael Cordero, 23, her boyfriend, has been charged with the Aug. 5 murder of McCallum, 20, whose body was found wrapped in a sheet in the apartment of her mother — Teboho Mora, a New York University professor — in the Bleecker St. building. According to reports, McCallum had been trying to end her relationship with Cordero, who was known to be possessive and have a violent temper.
