250 Mercer mayhem

Around 10 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 11, police received a call that a man was trying to drag a woman into an apartment on the fourth or fifth floor at 250 Mercer St. Officers from both the Sixth and Ninth Precincts responded. The man reportedly refused to let them into the apartment, and two officers, a male and a female, were injured while attempting to arrest him. Above, the injured female officer is shown being taken to a waiting ambulance after the incident. At right, the man, whose name was not provided by police by press time, is shown being led in handcuffs to an ambulance.
