Steve Feltes, owner of Evergreen Video on Carmine St., right, dropped off several old store computers at an electronics recycling event on W. 23rd St. on June 17. Ive had about 20 Macs altogether, Feltes said as he unloaded an ancient Apple SE 30 and several other computers from his car. Evergreen Video is closing at the end of the month. The Lower East Side Recycling Center organized the event, with Tekserve as site sponsor. Pending legislation would require manufacturers to take back old computers which contain toxic heavy metals for proper disposal.
