Rev. John Denaro to lead St. Mark’s

It’s official. The paperwork has been filed with the Episcopal Archdiocese. The Reverend John Denaro is the new head priest at St. Mark’s Church in the Bowery in the East Village at 10th St. and Second Ave. Denaro, a Bronx native, is in his early 40s. During the day he works at the Episcopal Church’s National Church Center in Midtown.

In the past he has done stints at Trinity Church and at St. George’s Church. He has already started leading the church. Tuesday night he and clergy members enjoyed a pancake dinner together in preparation for Lent.
