Pompei hopes bucks will erupt

Friends of Caring Community and Our Lady of Pompei Church and others are welcome to take part in the Christmas Fair on Sat., Dec. 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Father Demo Hall, at the corner of Bleecker and Carmine Sts.

This year’s fair will feature jewelry, games and books, and a roast beef lunch for $3. Raffles will also be available.

Lucy Cecere, who wears at least two community hats, was founder and is on the executive board of Caring Community, and is a member of the Buildings Committee at the church, a site of one of the senior centers for Caring Community. She’s a leader in the church repair project.

“Repairs are progressing well,” reported Cecere. “But we keep discovering new places that need fixing, and all that costs money.”
