Luna phase ends
Luna Park Cafe, an outdoor seasonal concession south of the pavilion at the park’s north end, has had a good run. The restaurant’s early boosters, including Rob Walsh, former head of the Union Square Business Improvement District, said it brought safety to the park at night. Under the plan to renovate the park’s north end, the cafe’s location will become an expanded playground. The pavilion will be renovated to host a seasonal private restaurant and a request for proposals will be issued for the project and restaurant.
