Last Wednesday, on the sidewalk at Second Ave. and 11th St., Zbigniew Zolkowski created a cross of boxes of chocolate with a sign stating “Free box or 2 to all Catholics.” Zolkowski said it was art with the message that charity shouldn’t be denomination driven. He said anyone, Catholic and non-Catholic, was welcome to a box — or 2. Above, East Villager Sharon Itkoff took advantage of the free offer. Until recently Zolkowski — who helps run a shelter at a Methodist church in Greenpoint — lived on St. Mark’s Pl.
