Homes for the holidays

Top pastry chefs from Cipriani, the Waldorf Astoria, Sweet Melissa Patisserie, Cake Diva, Barolo Restaurant, Bruno Bakery and Cafeteria created 25 intricately detailed gingerbread houses — ranging from a Brooklyn brownstone to a Victorian dollhouse furnished with sugar-paste furniture — as part of a public exhibit to benefit the Caring Community, which assists Greenwich Village and Lower Manhattan seniors to live safely in their own homes. The display also features gingerbread homes created by local school students and Sotheby’s International Realty brokers. The display is on view daily until Dec. 31, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Caring Community Center on the Square, 20 Washington Square North (near Fifth Ave.), parlor floor. (Dec. 31, open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
