Chanting Funds for hurricane relief, not for war, a group of 50 people, including the West Village-based Troops Out Now Coalition, rallied Friday on the Times Square traffic island protesting the governments slow response in helping Hurricane Katrina victims. Dustin Langley, one of the organizers, had just returned from a week in Crawford, Tex., where he joined Cindy Sheehan, who lost her son Casey in Iraq, in protesting the war at the entrance to the Bush ranch. Above, Kate Euford encouraged people to learn emergency training to cope with disasters by joining local volunteer CERT teams.
