Taylor Age: 10 School: P.S. 41 Grade: 5 What do you like most about school? I like independently reading, because you can choose your own books and there are a lot of good books at our school. Right now I’m reading a new book called “Hoot.” Are you looking forward to going back to school? Yes, I am. Especially because there are some special events in the fifth grade I want to join. Mostly I’m looking forward to the fifth-grade play and the talent show, where I want to sing. What don’t you like about school? I don’t like that this year is going to be the last year at this school and I don’t like that I have to skip some of my favorite classes. The most exciting thing you did this summer: We went to the mountains and I was swimming in the lake a lot. The bravest thing you ever did: The bravest thing I ever did was probably to learn how to do a back flip and when I was riding my horse Sprinkles and he tried to get out. I was really afraid. Emily Age: 7 School: P.S. 199 Grade: 2 What do you like most about school? The things I like the most are being with my friends and learning. I especially enjoy my music class, because I like music and I play the piano. Are you looking forward to going back to school? Yes, I am. And the great thing about being in the second grade is that we can walk around in the school by ourselves. The bravest thing you ever did: I watched a scary movie, “Scream.”		Ben Age: 9 School: P.S. 199 Grade: 4 What do you like most about school? I don’t know. School is kind of boring, but I like to be with my friends there and I like math. What don’t you like about school? I don’t like my writing class. That’s boring. Are you looking forward to going back to school? I’m looking forward to seeing all my friends there. The bravest thing you ever did: We went on a trip this summer and I climbed a wall which was almost vertical and it was at least 50 feet high. Sinead Age: 12 School: Delta Grade: 7 What do you like most about school? I like learning the most and my favorite class is Humanities. I want to become a teacher when I’m grown up. What don’t you like about school? I don’t like math. Are you looking forward to going back to school? I’m kind of looking forward to the first week, but then it will become kind of boring again. But the good thing about being in the seventh grade now is that we can go out for lunch. The most exciting thing you did this summer: We went on a trip out West, we went to Colorado, Wyoming. And we went to Yellowstone Park camping. That was great. The bravest thing you ever did: That was actually this summer, went I jumped into 30-degree cold water.
