G.V. Mariners sink Sox in seesaw Minors game

In a tightly fought, back-and-forth Greenwich Village Little League Minors Division game, the Mariners topped the White Sox, 10-9, on Saturday. Pitching for the Mariners was Joshua Blaney in his second win of the season. He pitched three tough innings. Sam Ryman pitched for the first time ever, retiring the White Sox 1, 2, 3 in the last inning to preserve the win. Joe Luisi made two great catches in left field. Austin Bell, playing his last game (he’s moving to New Mexico), had a timely hit to keep the Mariners’ rally going. Leighton Brillo-Sonnino was steady behind the plate, catching the entire game. The White Sox starting pitcher, Cameron Spector, pitched a strong game, backed up by some nice hitting from the White Sox.
