‘Little Flowers’

Elizabeth Butson, publisher emeritus of The Villager, and Peter DeLuca, owner of Greenwich Village Funeral Home, were honored with LaGuardia Medallions, presented by the Friends of LaGuardia Park at an Oct. 21 gala cocktail reception at The Tiro a Segno on MacDougal St. Butson was honored for “her constant and dedicated service to our neighborhood and its diverse communities,” DeLuca for “his continuing and untiring work in improving the LaGuardia Pl. Garden.” The event marked the 70th anniversary of the innauguration of Fiorello LaGuardia, nicknamed the “Little Flower,” as mayor of New York City.
