The Elizabeth St. Garden’s Second Annual Harvest Fest on Saturday featured arts and crafts, costumes, healthy food and lots of enjoyment of one of Downtown’s very rare open spaces. The community continues its struggle against the city’s plan to develop the property with affordable housing to supplement the Seward Park Urban Renewal Area project, which is not even located in the same community board district. Community Board 2 is staunchly against the housing plan and in favor of preserving the garden as permanent open space.
