On Fri., Oct. 3, at around 9:30 a.m., Police Officer Carlos Guzman, in uniform, assigned to Transit District 4, was patrolling the L train platform at First Ave. and 14th St. At that time, he observed a male, 48, sitting on the platform’s edge and as he approached, the man attempted to lunge in front of an incoming L train. Before he could do so, though, Guzman grabbed him and pulled him onto the platform. E.M.S. medics responded and transported the man to Beth Israel Hospital for evaluation.
