The idea, hatched by two tech investors, is to create an atmosphere where passersby can sit and have face-to-face encounters, just like in olden days. On Saturday, as several college-age people leaned forward in conversation, a group of men standing by one couch discussed who was behind the 9/11 attacks and the Kennedy assassination.
