On Oct. 8 the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space, on Avenue C near E. 10th St., hosted author Sarah Schulman, whose latest book, “The Gentrification of the Mind: Witness to a Lost Imagination,” revisits the Lower East Side’s rebellious gay culture in the AIDS-plagued 1980s and ’90s. Schulman took questions from Ben Shepard, an associate professor of human service at the CUNY School of Technology and a local activist.
