Richard Pearson, a.k.a. the “Soho Wild Man,” appeared in State Supreme Court on June 25. He is charged with second-degree assault for allegedly throwing a brick at a person’s head. Neighbors and merchants in around Spring St. in Soho and Nolita say Pearson is mentally ill and has been terrorizing the community with aggressive, violent behavior. Pearson is 6 feet 4 inches tall and very strong, and even police say it is difficult to deal with him.
