Last month, in The Cooper Union’s Great Hall, the Ninth Precinct Community Council held its annual police officer awards for the East Village precinct. Officers were honored for their heroism, hard work, community service and, above all, keeping the neighborhood safe for residents, merchants and visitors alike.
