Johnny comes marching home, then catches ferry to Governors

On Saturday, joining the Governors Island opening-day festivities were a group of Civil War re-enactors, including the woman above. Representing the 14th Rhode Island Heavy Artillery Regiment, they did lots of drilling with their muskets, and just generally waiting around for the Rebels to show up — which they didn’t. Maybe next year. They also did a lot of sweating in their blue wool coats in the hot weather.
