Dance parade has a chill ending this year — skating

On Saturday, the Sixth Annual Dance Parade sambaed, waltzed and boogied its way down Broadway from 21st St. to Tompkins Square Park, where soundstages were set up for various dance acts after the parade. Huge crowds along the route watched the thousands of hoofers performing various styles from techno to ballet. In a Dance Parade first, Marni Halasa laid down some synthetic ice in Tompkins to glide around on, below right.
