Zelda Kaplan, the clothing designer and style icon, was sitting front row at Joanna Mastroianni’s Fashion Week show last month when Kaplan, 95, collapsed and died. The photographer, who used to see the globe-trotting Kaplan at the Margaret Mead Festival, spotted this double-sided photo portrait, complete with hands, at a sidewalk sale on Spring St. this summer. She subsequently confirmed it was of Zelda Kaplan.
